Antique Japanese Meiji Period Imari Bowl – £195

Decorative Objects, Dishes & Bowls

Description

I can honestly say this is one of my most favourite pieces I have bought recently and its rather hard to part with!  This fabulous Japanese Imari Bowl from the Meiji Period (1868–1912) is beautifully decorated inside and out with vibrant bold colours – it really is a fantastic decorative bowl.

Japanese Imari ware from the Meiji Period (1868–1912) represent a high point in Japanese export porcelain, known for its vibrant colours, complex designs and rich colours.  Following the opening of Japan to the West, these pieces were produced in the Arita region (Saga province) and became immensely popular in Europe and America.
