Antique Chamberlain Worcester Porcelain Candlestick – £165
Description
A really pretty and rare decorative candlestick from the early nineteenth century, made at the Chamberlain factory in Worcester, England. It is signed C Haytor and dated 1825. Mr and Mrs Hayton were celebrated amateur decorators and lived in Moreton in Herefordshire. They bought blank pieces of porcelain – painted them and then returned them to the factory for gilding. This example is a lovely colour turqoise and painted with gorgeous flowers.
The Chamberlain factory was founded by former decorators at the Dr. Wall factory and created many magnificent pieces of porcelain in the nineteenth century. This candlestick is in very good condition with just a small mark around the top – see photos.
