A fabulous antique round medium sized jug in William Adams Painted Chinese Bird.  The pattern was first introduced in 1780 as one of the first Chinese style patterns produced in English pottery. It was then copied and introduced again around 1913 and was then very popular through 1920s and 1930s. It has a small chip on the base – see photo but you cannot it see it when the jug is standing.

This design on the jug consists of two panels, both featuring a colourful Asiatic bird and it has a lovely ochre rim.
