This fantastic figurine of a handsome looking cockatoo is made by Karl Ens, one of the oldest and most prestigious porcelain factories in Germany. This hand-painted bird is beautifully modelled with an impressive yellow crest and the body is painted in lovely hues of green and yellow with a small lilac patch on its head. The bird is sitting on a branch inspired base that also features a protuding leaf. The details of this piece confirms the well deserved reputation of the Ens factory for creating fine animal figurines. The blue windmill mark dates the piece to between 1919 – 1945. It is in perfect condition.
